Working in occupied environments multiplies the complexity of any project.
Over 90% of Jokake’s work resides in occupied settings, including hospitals, corporate headquarters, school campuses, data centers and countless other settings where skill,attention to detail, focus on safety and security, and avoidance of disruption are key. For Glendale Community College’s Student Union Renovation, GCC did not have the luxury of shutting down this important facility, which served critical needs of the entire student population.
Jokake developed an approach that included completely recreating the facility’s kitchen, servery, and student services while the building was occupied and inuse 100% of the time. Through an extensive dedication to safety and security, no incidents affecting the students or faculty were reported. And through our commitment to communication, the students became an integral part of our project interacting with the team and generating excitement for their new Student Center.
