Jokake Construction was founded in 1983 as a family business by brothers Mike and Gary Smith. Their goal was to build a company based on a foundation of strong values and focusing on commercial tenant improvements throughout the Phoenix metro area.
Over time, Jokake Construction leveraged its unique strength in working in and around our clients’ occupied environments into additional industry segments, and built empowered and dedicated Specialized Building Teams to tackle our clients’ most challenging projects.
Today, Jokake is a full service general contractor specializing in new construction and renovation projects in the commercial, municipal, education, healthcare, hospitality, and critical facilities markets throughout the Southwest.
Over the past few years, Jokake Construction has transitioned ownership to become a 100% employee-owned company. This means that all Jokake team members have a vested interest in our clients’ success, which has produced an empowering, entrepreneurial, and solutions-oriented culture that is focused on providing value to our clients.
Jokake takes pride in providing all the services of larger contractors with a uniquely personal approach. In the future, our plan is to take that approach to additional market sectors and new construction markets across the western United States. We want to grow, but not at the expense of quality, and we don’t want to be the biggest — we want to be the best.
